TECNALIA RESEARCH & INNOVATION (www.tecnalia.com) is a private, independent, non-profit research centre of international excellence. Legally a Foundation, Tecnalia is the leading research and technology organisation in Spain and one of the largest in Europe, employing 1 336 people (198 PhDs), with a turnover of 102 Million € in 2013. Tecnalia is organized in 7 business divisions and carries out research and innovation activities in the fields of Energy & Environment, Industry, Transportation, Construction, Health, ICT and Innovation Strategies. In the field of Intellectual Property Rights, Tecnalia holds 66 patents or family of patents, which are either property of the company or exploited jointly with third parties.TECNALIA is a key agent in the European Research Area, holding position 12th among RECs and 26th overall in EC’s 6th FP7 Monitoring Report 2012. In FP7 TECNALIA participated in 377 projects, coordinating 81 of them; in H2020, the company participates in 53 projects, coordinating 8 of them, according to the first results of 2015.

Tecnalia, the University of the Basque Country (EHU/UPV), and Donostia International Physics Centre (DISC) are the founding members of Euskampus (2010, http://euskampus.ehu.es/), a project with attained the qualification of International Campus of Excellence from the Spanish Ministry of Education (2010).
Upon the Innovation Strategies Division and ICT-ESI Division in TECNALIA leadership is granted to address as key issue government and public administration, providing them with help in the research, the development, and the deployment of new and innovative policies supported under technology. Present project has been launched by Innovation Strategies Division. This aim is furthered through initiatives geared towards advice, training and dissemination; the certification of knowledge and competences; and the promotion of process of creativity within organizations. This Unit has more than 10 years’ experience applying the above technologies in society, and participating in EU programmes: FP7, Comenius, LdV, Progress, Interreg-SUDOE and CIP. TECNALIA acts as coordinator and/or facilitator for many different networking activities.

All the key staff to be involved in the INNOSPARK project belongs to the Innovation Strategies Division of TECNALIA. The Division is specialised in innovation policies and programmes as a key factor in the management of innovation as the decisive element in company competitiveness. The Research & Development & Innovation experience of the over 65 highly qualified people that make up the Division, together with the technological and market knowledge of the rest of TECNALIA, constitute the competitive edge of the high added value services it offers to the clients. Main expertise in invigorating business and social innovation (Design, execution and accompanying of programmes and other tools for the promotion of innovation in companies) and Policies for innovation and models of regional development (Formulation, introduction and evaluation of policies) and research, the development, and the deployment of new and innovative policies supported under technology.
